Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad invites applications for a senior Sustainability & ESG leader. You will shape and monitor PAAB’s sustainability practices, oversee KPIs, and drive governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across a broad environmental, social, and governance remit.
You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and report to the Board, ensuring integrity and continuous improvement in PAAB’s sustainability performance.

Manage the development, execution & monitoring of business practices, products and services to align with the company’s sustainability strategies.
Assess and analyse policies, procedures & processes to ensure alignment with the company’s and national sustainability agenda.
Coordinate and evaluate the implementation of overall sustainability strategies, as well as PAAB’s performance against established targets and recommend improvements where necessary.
Lead the production of annual sustainability reports and other public documents related to PAAB’s sustainability initiatives.
Develop and oversee sustainability KPIs and targets (e.g. energy and water efficiency of assets, carbon footprint, climate resilience and social impact).
Work with internal stakeholders to design and implement initiatives that improve PAAB’s environmental performance and social responsibility.
Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and assess their sustainability implications for PAAB.
Ensure that PAAB’s sustainability practices support good corporate governance.
Develop and maintain sustainability-related policies, charters & procedures and ensure effective dissemination & implementation across the organisation.
Develop relevant targets, metrics, policies, procedures and processes for managing & measuring PAAB’s performance against sustainability targets approved by the Management & Board of Directors of PAAB.
Serve as the secretary for the Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC) & Sustainability Working Committee (SWC), prepare regular updates, presentations, reports & board papers for senior management, the Sustainability Committee and the Board of Directors.
Maintain all departmental documentation and perform any other duties as required.
Coordinate with Internal Audit and external auditors/assurance providers on reviews related to sustainability controls.
Oversee the quality, integrity and completeness of data used for sustainability reporting.
Engage & coordinate with relevant stakeholders, e.g. shareholders, regulators, investors and vendors to implement and enhance PAAB’s sustainability agenda.
Serve as the primary contact for communications regarding sustainability reporting, sustainability assessments and other sustainability-related matters.
Engage with regulators, relevant ministries, financiers, rating agencies and other stakeholders on ESG & sustainability matters.
Manage organisation-wide sustainability awareness initiatives through briefings, training, toolkits and campaigns.
Lead & foster a positive culture of integrity, accountability, innovation, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Lead the development and sustainability of a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning and capability building, aligned with PAAB’s transformation & competency framework.
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field;
Professional certification in risk and/or sustainability is strongly preferred, e.g. ESG/sustainability credentials (such as GRI, SASB/ISSB-related, climate, or sustainability-linked certifications);
Minimum 8–10 years of relevant working experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity in sustainability/ESG roles, preferably within water, utilities, infrastructure, or energy sectors; or financial institutions, government-linked investment entities, or large GLCs with strong sustainability practices;
Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and ESG disclosure practices (e.g. Bursa, GRI-style reporting, TCFD/ISSB-type frameworks and green/sustainability sukuk principles).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear risk and sustainability insights for decisionmakers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English, including report writing and presentations to the Board and Board committees.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and facilitation skills.
High level of integrity, professional judgement and confidentiality.
