Jora Malaysia seeks a senior leader to command geospatial analytics, UAV operations, and digital agriculture R&D initiatives. You will guide a multidisciplinary team to turn large spatial datasets into actionable insights for strategic decisions.
You will spearhead the development of GIS tools, workflows, and decision-support systems, while managing budgets and coordinating across agronomy, engineering, and IT domains.

Lead the development and execution of the organization's geospatial, remote sensing, UAV, and digital agriculture technology roadmap by identifying emerging technologies and research trends, and conceptualizing, proposing, and managing innovative R&D projects that support strategic business objectives.
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of researchers and field personnel, ensuring effective resource utilization and the timely delivery of project milestones, deliverables, and operational objectives.
Define and oversee geospatial analytics, modelling, and decision-support initiatives that transform large-scale agricultural and spatial data into actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Lead the development of custom GIS tools, automation scripts, APls, and web applications, and establish scalable, secure, and high-performance geospatial processing workflows and systems using Python, ArcPy, SOL, and related technologies.
Lead the development and implementation of UAV and remote sensing frameworks, including flight planning, data acquisition, processing, sensor optimization, and the integration of UAV, satellite, LiDAR, and field data into decision-support systems for precision agriculture applications.
Develop and manage budgets, resource plans, procurement activities, and technology investments for geospatial and UAV initiatives, ensuring effective utilization of financial resources and alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams comprising agronomy, engineering, data science, IT, and plantation operations to develop and implement innovative technology frameworks and solutions leveraging geospatial
Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, and knowledge repositories.
Undertake any other duties and special projects assigned by Management from time to time.
Postgraduate Degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Remote Sensing, GIS, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Agricultural Engineering, or related disciplines.
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in geospatial analytics, remote sensing, UAV operations, research management, or digital agriculture.
Proven experience leading technical teams.
Strong experience in project planning, budgeting, resource management, and stakeholder engagement.
Expert knowledge of GIS and remote sensing platforms such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine,ENVI, Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, or equivalent.
Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in Python, ArcPy, GOAL, GeoPandas, Rasterio, OpenCV, and related geospatial libraries.
Experience in geospatial database design, administration, and optimization using PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SOL Server Spatial, ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabases, or equivalent.
Familiarity with cloud-based geospatial platforms and services.
Experience in machine learning, computer vision, and Al applications involving geospatial and UAV datasets.
Strong understanding of spatial statistics, geospatial modelling, and predictive analytics.
Experience integrating UAV, satellite, loT, and operational datasets into enterprise systems.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines and budgets.
Strong communication, presentation, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
