Job summary

TMF Group Malaysia is seeking an experienced Manager, Fund Services to lead a team of fund accounting professionals, delivering accurate NAV calculations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance for a portfolio of investment funds.

You will oversee month-end processes, ensure high-touch client service, and drive operational excellence while coordinating with custodians and asset management stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • At least 8 years of work experience in banks, trustees, and asset management companies.
  • Preferably with fund accounting experience in fund management company or trustees company.
  • Excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgement skills.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the need for high-touch client service.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach the staff in fund accounting activities.
  • Prepare timely and accurate Net Assets Values, yields, distributions, and other fund accounting outputs for review.
  • Record accounting entries in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile accounts and research variances.
  • Identify exceptions and assist in their resolution.
  • Write reports on Fund activities for management.
  • Research securities for proper accounting treatment and compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute reports to custodians and investment management.
  • Resolve queries from clients.
  • Assist colleagues and develop new procedures to improve productivity.
  • Lead system testing, setup and migration with stakeholders.
  • Review month end and regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor team performance and provide input to management.

As a Manager, Fund Services, you will lead a team of fund accounting professionals in delivering accurate NAV calculations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance for a portfolio of investment funds, while driving operational excellence and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coach the staff in fund accounting activities
  • Responsible in preparing a timely and accurate Net Assets Values, yields, distributions, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
  • To record accurately, and in accordance with the policies and procedures, such accounting records as securities positions, corporate actions related, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly researching and correcting any variances.
  • Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution.
  • Write reports periodically to management on Fund activities and other related issues.
  • Research, as assigned, certain securities in Fund portfolios for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting treatment (such as the nature of distributions, original issue discounts, and international valuations) and compliance with SC, tax, and prospectus restrictions and limitations.
  • Prepare, reconcile and distribute reports to/from custodians and investment management.
  • Resolve queries from clients.
  • Seek to learn quickly and continually improve service offered.
  • Assist other colleagues on day-to-day fund activities. Act as effective team member by imparting knowledge as appropriate and assist in the development of new procedures or enhancement to current processes to improve team productivity.
  • Take lead in system testing, system setup and migration. Liaise with respective stakeholders.
  • Review month end, semi-annual, quarterly reporting to client and regulators.
  • Monitor team performance and provide input to manager.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant fields.
  • At least 8 years of work experience in the bank, trustee, and Asset Management Company.
  • Preferably with fund accounting experience in fund management company or trustees company
  • Excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgement skills.
