Qualifications

  • CA from ICAI mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Ind-AS/IFRS and taxation.
  • ERP systems and MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial close activities.
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with auditors (internal and statutory) and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with departments.
  • Monitor budget utilization and highlight variances with analysis and recommendations.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure effective fund management.

Job Title: Manager Finance
Location: Malaysia

Department: Finance & Accounts
Institution Type: Higher Education Institution
Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the Institution, ensure statutory compliance, budgeting, financial reporting, and effective internal controls. The role will support strategic planning and ensure the Institutions financial sustainability while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial close activities.
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with auditors (internal and statutory) and ensure timely completion of audits.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with academic and administrative departments.
  • Monitor budget utilization and highlight variances with analysis and recommendations.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure effective fund management.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements including Income Tax, SST/GST, WHT, and other applicable laws.
  • Liaise with tax consultants, legal advisors, and government authorities where required.
  • Keep abreast of updates in financial regulations in both India and (if applicable) host country.
Fee Management & Student Billing
  • Oversee student billing cycles, fee collection, and reconciliation with academic systems.
  • Monitor receivables and support recovery planning in coordination with admissions and administration.
Team Supervision & Process Improvement
  • Supervise finance and accounts team including delegation of work, review, and mentoring.
  • Drive process automation and improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and support risk management initiatives.
Institutional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments for financial planning of events, grants, and research funding.
  • Support strategic initiatives including new program feasibility, infrastructure projects, and partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI (mandatory).
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles (Ind-AS/IFRS), taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and MS Excel.
