Job summary

Allianz Asia Pacific is seeking an Audit Manager (Business Audit) to independently perform and manage audits across the AZAP region, drive regionalisation projects, and support entities in reaching Technical and Customer Excellence.

You will lead audit teams, coordinate regional audits, provide technical advice, and roll out regional harmonisation initiatives while building trusted partnerships with auditees and senior management. This role requires about 30% travel within Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Management or equivalent.
  • Certifications such as CIA or CPA are advantageous.
  • 7–10 years of audit experience in financial institutions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform business audits; lead audit teams and discussions with auditees.
  • Coordinate regional audits and draft regional reports.
  • Drive regional harmonisation and document policies/procedures.
  • Act as relationship manager for multiple entities in the region.

Job Purpose

The Audit Manager (Business Audit) independently performs and manages business audits across all entities and lines of business in the AZAP region, drives audit regionalisation projects and supports entities in reaching Technical and Customer Excellence.

What You Do
  • You will be involved in auditing business areas, in addition to in-depth knowledge and experience in several business areas
  • You will plan and execute business audits; lead and coach audit teams and lead discussions with auditees and senior management during audit kick-off and closing meetings; drive the preparation of closing meeting presentations and final audit reports including management feedback.
  • You will coordinate regional audits performed by local audit teams, provides technical advice, draft regional reports aggregating local results
  • You will drive regional harmonisation projects including obtaining the buy-in of local heads of audit and documentation of the regional policies and procedures
  • You will be the Relationship manager for 3 to 4 entities in the region, providing support on audit-related questions and quality assurance oversight through regular touchpoints
  • You will also assist in regional risk assessment activities
  • You will define and roll out regional harmonisation initiatives (including the adoption of best practices), supporting CAEs on audit-related questions (especially in relation to Global Audits and Global work programmes)
  • Lastly, you will perform quality assurance reviews on local audit teams and monitor the development of assigned OEs.
What You Bring
  • You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business discipline such as Accounting, Finance, or Management.
  • Relevant certifications, for example, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Public Accountant, would be an added advantage.
  • 7-10 years of internal/external audit experience, preferably in the financial institution sector. Prior experience in insurance will be an advantage.
  • Technically strong and able to independently lead/perform audits in many audit areas
  • Strong ethical characteristics
  • Ability to see the "big picture" and also curious and driven
  • Ability to deal with all types of people and business situations
  • Trusted partner to the business
  • Open-minded, a good listener, able to empathise with the auditee and understand the situation from their perspective
  • Good communication skills -to tactfully bring across the issues both verbally and in the report
  • Proficient in MS Office -Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The role includes approximately 30% travel within Asia Pacific
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Prior knowledge of the TeamMate+ tool would be an advantage
