Job description

【Job Summary】

This is an exceptional executive opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on, and strategic accounting professional to join a premier global integrated business enterprise operating across multiple key industry verticals. Situated in a prestigious commercial complex in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, this full‑time managerial role offers a modern hybrid working arrangement designed to support work‑life integration while encouraging active on‑site leadership and cross‑functional team collaboration.

The primary objective of the Manager, Accounting Department, is to steer the company's daily financial operations, establish and maintain robust internal control policies, and oversee complete statutory, management, and headquarters financial reporting. Positioned as a core link between operational line managers, regional executives, and head office leadership, the successful candidate will assume end‑to‑end accountability for ensuring that all financial records, monthly closures, and periodic consolidated reports comply with stringent accounting standards and statutory deadlines.

Within this dynamic organization, you will manage a wide portfolio of corporate and project accounts, taking responsibility for multi‑entity ledger management, cash flow oversight, and operational risk mitigation. A central responsibility includes leading annual budgeting and rolling forecasting cycles, conducting deep‑dive financial variance analyses, and providing actionable strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Furthermore, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and foreign tax regulatory frameworks, including corporate tax filings, sales and service taxes (SST), withholding tax obligations, and transfer pricing documentation. You will lead interactions with external statutory auditors, tax consultants, financial institutions, and government authorities to uphold the highest levels of corporate governance and compliance.

In addition to technical mastery, strong leadership, personnel development, and team mentorship are integral to this role. The Manager will directly supervise, coach, and elevate a team of accounting professionals, establishing clear operational guidelines, driving process optimization, and keeping the unit abreast of evolving international financial standards, tax amendments, and automated system workflows. You will work in close coordination with cross‑departmental stakeholders to fulfill ad‑hoc financial evaluation requests, offer strategic guidance on new business ventures, and drive continuous improvement across financial workflows.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a recognized degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of broad, progressive experience in financial reporting, management accounting, tax compliance, and team supervision. Professional proficiency in enterprise resource planning systems (such as SAP) and advanced proficiency in MS Office (specifically MS Excel) are required. High ethical standards, operational integrity, analytical problem‑solving skills, and executive communication capabilities are essential to succeed in this fast‑paced corporate environment.

【Responsibilities】
  • Financial Reporting & Management: Oversee and guarantee the timely, accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and head office reporting packages. Supervise accounting operations across multi‑entity accounts and individual project financial portfolios.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Direct and monitor general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury movements, payment approvals, and month‑end closure activities.
  • Budgeting & Financial Analysis: Drive the annual budgeting exercise, prepare financial forecasts, analyze variance reports, and advise senior leadership on cost management and corrective actions.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Evaluate, enhance, and enforce corporate internal control systems to safeguard organizational assets, lower operational risks, and maintain strict adherence to internal policies.
  • Taxation & Audit Oversight: Manage corporate statutory audits, tax filings, withholding tax compliance, SST declarations, and complex transfer pricing documentation while liaising with external advisors and regulatory authorities.
  • Team Supervision & Development: Provide direct leadership, technical mentoring, and performance evaluation for accounting staff, identifying growth opportunities and conducting regular training on regulatory and system updates.
  • Stakeholder Management & Special Projects: Serve as a financial advisor to internal business units, handling executive requests, evaluating business cases, and supporting ad‑hoc corporate initiatives.
