Job summary

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Accounting professional with broad Finance and Accounting experience to lead reporting, compliance and team supervision. The role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to partner with management across departments.

The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, audits, tax matters and internal controls, while mentoring staff and ensuring adherence to corporate policies and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Finance and Accounting experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in audit and internal control matters.
• Experience in supervising and managing subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate preparation of management, periodic and HQ reports.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, payments and accounting matters.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Review and improve internal control processes and ensure compliance with company policies and requirements.
• Coordinate statutory audit, tax filing, transfer pricing and related compliance matters with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee accounting matters for MC group companies and project accounts, where applicable.
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to accounting staff and keep the team updated on changes in finance rules, policies and business processes.
• Handle ad-hoc accounting, tax, compliance and business-related requests from management and other departments.

About the role

This candidate should be a hands-on Accounting professional with broad Finance and Accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and proven supervisory experience. The candidate should be able to manage reporting and compliance requirements independently, work closely with management and other departments, and provide guidance to the accounting team. In addition to technical capability, strong integrity, reliability, communication, organization and problem-solving skills are important for the role.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting.
• Experience in financial reporting, management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in audit and internal control matters.
• Experience in supervising and managing subordinates.
• Experience in handling multiple accounts and a broad range of accounting and finance matters.
• Exposure to local and foreign tax matters, including corporate tax, withholding tax, SST and transfer pricing.
• Good knowledge of financial accounting principles, financial analysis and internal controls.
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, particularly MS Excel; knowledge of Mints-GBS and other relevant financial systems is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and people management capability.
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
