Management Trainee – Engineering Apprentice
The Management Trainee – Engineering Apprentice will undergo a 12-month structured development designed for fresh graduates in engineering, offering hands‑on experience through rotational assignments across three strategic functions within our manufacturing operations: Process Engineering, Failure Analysis (FA), Test Engineering, Industrial Engineering (IE) and Production/Operation Training.
Trainees will work alongside experienced engineers on real‑time projects, contribute to daily operations, and gain broad exposure to key aspects of product development and manufacturing. The role is designed to accelerate technical learning, build professional capabilities, and prepare candidates for long‑term career opportunities with Advanced Energy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Engineering:
- Support yield improvement and process optimization initiatives.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis for process‑related issues.
- Participate in process validation, documentation, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process qualification and readiness assessments.
- Analyze process performance data and provide recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle time.
Failure Analysis (FA):
- Assist in identifying root causes for product or component failures.
- Support FA reporting and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to implement solutions.
- Assist in conducting laboratory testing and characterization using failure analysis tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate analysis records and support the preparation of technical presentations and reports.
- Support test system setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Participate in test development, data analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to yield improvement and test time optimization activities.
- Assist in developing and validating test procedures to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Support the implementation of automation and continuous improvement projects to enhance test efficiency and coverage.
- Support capacity planning, manpower utilization, and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Assist in analyzing production data to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in time studies, process mapping, and Lean Manufacturing projects.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement activities to enhance operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve resource utilization, reduce waste, and streamline processes.
Production / Operation Training:
- Gain hands‑on exposure to daily manufacturing and production operations.
- Learn and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Support production activities, including line monitoring, troubleshooting, and process execution.
- Develop an understanding of production planning, inventory control, and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Work closely with supervisors and operators to understand end‑to‑end manufacturing processes and best practices.
Others:
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
- Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a fast‑paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
- Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
- Troubleshoots high voltage power supplies.
- Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to rotate across functions during the program.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, JMP).
- Basic knowledge in electronics, test systems, or quality tools.
EXPERIENCE:
- Internship experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Unemployed graduates below 30 y/o who are actively seeking employment opportunities.
