Job summary

People Profilers Pte Ltd is assisting a leading marine services group in recruiting a Head of Malaysia Operations based in Johor Bahru. The role will own the Malaysia business, oversee growth and operations, and drive performance with strong leadership.

You will report to the MD, split time 60% in Malaysia and 40% supporting Singapore, and stay closely involved in day-to-day work while building a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent requirement.
• Proven leadership or branch/operations management experience.
• Track record in P&L management and commercial negotiations.
• Hands-on, analytical problem solver with a strong ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the Malaysia branch, balancing growth, operational delivery and commercial results.
• Own and manage branch P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and targets.
• Coordinate Malaysia–Singapore operations to meet customer commitments across borders.
• Grow the business by developing customer relationships and expanding service capabilities.
• Lead commercial negotiations and manage key contracts with customers, vendors and service providers.
• Drive business development, process improvement and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Build and coach a high-performing team through manpower planning and performance management.
• Act as the escalation point for critical operational, commercial and stakeholder issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
