Job summary

Asia Infrastructure Solutions Limited (AIS) Malaysia is seeking a motivated Alignment Engineer to join our Civil/Highway Engineering team. You will assist in the planning, design, and development of road alignments for infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

You will work with senior engineers and colleagues to deliver designs on schedule, using Civil 3D or OpenRoads, and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and BEM registration.
• 2–4 years of road/highway design experience, with alignment and geometric design.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads.
• Familiarity with JKR and LLM guidelines and standards.
• Experience on road/highway projects.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and development of horizontal and vertical road alignments.
• Prepare alignment plans, profiles, cross-sections and related design drawings.
• Carry out geometric design in accordance with JKR and LLM guidelines and requirements.
• Develop and update road alignment models using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads.
• Coordinate alignment design with other disciplines, including structures, drainage, geotechnical, utilities and traffic.
• Assist in checking design drawings and ensuring compliance with project requirements and relevant standards.
• Participate in technical discussions and coordination meetings with clients, consultants and relevant authorities.
• Assist in resolving design issues and developing practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, reports and technical submissions as required.
• Work closely with senior engineers and the project team to deliver design works within the required schedule.

The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, design, and development of road and highway alignments for various infrastructure projects, working closely with other team members to support the successful delivery of projects from concept to completion.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent and registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in road/highway design, particularly alignment and geometric design.
• Practical experience using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads.
• Familiar with JKR and LLM guidelines, standards and requirements.
• Road/highway project experience is essential.
• Good understanding of horizontal and vertical alignment and basic geometric design principles.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently with guidance from senior engineers and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
