Job summary

Porex Technologies Sdn Bhd (of Filtration Group) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform manufacturing maintenance, ensure optimum machine performance, and support continuous improvement. The role emphasizes electrical and mechanical upkeep, safety compliance, and proactive problem solving within a rotating shift environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in manufacturing maintenance, basic PLC knowledge, and a proactive mindset to uphold quality and reliability across production

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical and electronic circuit layouts, schematics, and technical drawings is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance practices, and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, motor control systems, and industrial automation is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Willingness and ability to work on a rotating shift schedule, including day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned tasks and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and requirements at all times, including the use of PPE, LOTO, and other applicable safety procedures.
• Ensure that all machines and processes are operating at optimum condition.
• Conduct work and motion studies of current processes to establish benchmarks and drive continuous process improvement.
• Perform weekly preventive maintenance to minimize the risk of machine breakdowns.
• Carry out regular maintenance activities, particularly mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance of all machines and production lines to ensure maximum uptime.
• Continuously improve, upgrade, and build machines to enhance product quality, machine performance, safety, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine faults promptly and effectively.
• Recommend, source, and procure mechanical, electrical, and electronic components, spare parts, and accessories for repairs, replacements, and machine enhancements.
• Ensure machines and work areas are cleaned and maintained in good condition after repair or maintenance work.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of frequently used spare parts and inform the superior when stock levels are low.
• Perform electrical wiring projects, machine wiring, re-wiring, and other repair works for both factory and office facilities.
• Comply with all requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO standards.
• Perform any other lawful duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.
