Job summary

Conspec Builders (M) Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Malaysia seeks a qualified maintenance engineer to manage maintenance and repair of forklifts, heavy equipment and factory machinery.

You will plan preventive maintenance, monitor service intervals, document history and coordinate with workshops and contractors to minimize downtime.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, at least 3 years' relevant experience, and hands-on troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with forklifts, heavy/construction equipment, hydraulic systems or factory machinery will be an advantage.
• Good practical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with contractors and suppliers.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, systematic and proactive in preventing equipment breakdowns.
• Able to maintain proper maintenance records and follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance and repair of company forklifts, telescopic handlers, construction equipment and factory machinery.
• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned breakdowns and equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical problems.
• Coordinate breakdown repairs with external workshops, contractors, machine suppliers and spare-parts suppliers.
• Build and maintain a reliable network of repairers and technical support contractors.
• Maintain proper maintenance and breakdown history for each machine, including problems, repairs, parts replaced, costs and downtime.
• Review previous breakdown history to identify recurring problems and root causes, instead of only repairing the immediate failure.
• Monitor service intervals, machine operating hours and upcoming maintenance.
• Identify and maintain critical spare parts where necessary.
• Follow up repair works and ensure machines are properly tested before returning to operation.
• Support factory maintenance, machine improvement and other engineering activities when required.
