Where you will be: Security Design and Technology (SDT) within AXA Group Operations, contributing to Cyber Defense security services, architecture, and product roadmaps. The team is global, with members in multiple regions.

Job purpose

As a Cyber Defense Security Designer for IBM Mainframe Z Series (and iSeries), you will maintain and improve the security posture of AXA’s IBM Mainframe-based IT infrastructure. You will identify security risks, develop remediation strategies, and collaborate with security product teams to protect AXA data.

Your Work Includes

• Conduct regular security assessments of IBM Mainframe Z Series and iSeries infrastructure; identify and address vulnerabilities
• Support distributed teams with the implementation and maintenance of IBM Mainframe security policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
• Perform periodic security configuration reviews to identify vulnerabilities and provide remediation options
• Coordinate security incident response and investigation within the IBM Mainframe area
• Provide IBM Mainframe Z Series/iSeries security guidance to other teams
• Support the implementation of Mainframe security controls for new systems and projects
• Contribute to security awareness training for employees and contractors
• Identify potential security threats and recommend actions to mitigate risks
• Stay up-to-date on Mainframe-specific security threats and trends and propose improvements
• (Co-)lead the product vision development for a Cyber Security product (5-year horizon)

Main missions / Responsibilities

• Translate requirements from distributed/Mainframe teams, entities, threat landscape, and regulations into a clear plan
• Support IT projects/products in security risk mitigation with appropriate prevention, detection, and response methods
• Improve the security level of the Mainframe and IBM iSeries
• Enhance Cyber Defense products to stay relevant in the threat landscape

Expected Skills & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience

Certifications

• IBM Mainframe Z Series security-related certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Administrator - Security z/OS) would be a plus
• Cloud Architecture qualification
• Cloud Security qualification

Experience

• Minimum 8 years in IT security operations, specifically IBM Mainframe Z Series and iSeries
• Experience with IBM Mainframe security tools (RACF, zSecure, Syslog, CARLA, ICSF, etc.)
• Knowledge of z/OS security standards and frameworks (RACF, zSecure, etc.)
• Experience building RACF reports in zSecure; onboarding/decommissioning applications into RACF
• Experience with SSO, AD/LDAP, PKI, privileged accounts, API integration, certificates, Kerberos, SSL, SSH
• USS experience desired
• Understanding of Mainframe network protocols, OS, and virtualization
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills for Mainframe security
• Strong communication skills in English
• Security Architecture experience and security product roadmap leadership
• Hands-on experience with Cloud, SOC, SIEM, IAM, IPS/IDS, WAF, HIPS, firewall, PUAM, M365, Unix, Azure, AWS, Forensics, etc. (>5 years)
