Job summary

BigHire in Malaysia (Petaling Jaya, Selangor) is seeking an M&E Engineer to design, oversee and install mechanical and electrical systems across projects. You will collaborate with consultants and the project management team to integrate M&E into the construction plan and conduct site inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, maintain records, and support energy management initiatives including monthly client reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience as an M&E Engineer in the construction industry; fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing & Sanitary, Lift & Escalator, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Willing to travel outstation/overseas for works.
• Familiar with relevant building codes and regulations.
• Casual dress code, medical insurance, paid training and development, and medical leave.

Responsibilities

• Design and overseeing the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing & Sanitary, Lift & Escalator, and electrical systems
• Collaborate with the other consultants & project management team to ensure that all M&E systems are integrated seamlessly into the overall construction plan
• Conduct site inspections, monitoring the progress and prepare progress payment of M&E work to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
• Troubleshoot and resolving any issues that arise with M&E systems during the construction process
• Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team as needed
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all M&E-related work
• Participate in company energy management project and ensure the client's operation site is achieving the best efficiency.
• Prepare monthly energy management report for client.
