Job summary

Blue Bulb Engineering Sdn Bhd, located in Puchong, is seeking Data Center Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to support a hyperscale data centre project in Malaysia. The role involves reviewing M&E designs, developing BODs, and leading commissioning and testing activities in line with Uptime Institute Tier standards.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant experience including data center commissioning or M&E design

Qualifications

We are looking for talented Data Center Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to join our team and play a key role in delivering a high-profile hyperscale data center project in Malaysia.

As part of our continued business expansion, we are hiring multiple engineers to support our growing portfolio of mission-critical data center projects across the region. These are newly created positions driven by business growth and expansion, not replacement roles.

What you'll be doing
Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to understand and review data center mechanical and electrical designs, including the Basis of Design (BOD), method statements, drawings, and technical documentation, while providing engineering solutions to complex challenges.

Develop and validate engineering designs and calculations that meet or exceed client requirements and comply with Uptime Institute Tier standards.

Participate in and support Uptime Institute certification processes, including coordination of Tier Certification of Design Documents (TCDD) and preparation for Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF) audits.

Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and client teams to identify and close gaps required for Uptime Tier compliance.

Conduct engineering reviews, audits, and technical analyses to ensure designs achieve Concurrently Maintainable or Fault Tolerant performance requirements.

Lead and manage the commissioning (Cx) of mechanical and electrical systems for hyperscale data center projects.

Plan, execute, and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Pre-Start-Up Testing (PST), Performance Testing, Functional Testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

Prepare and review commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and test scripts to ensure successful project delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate system integration, testing, and commissioning activities.

Review contractor method statements and manufacturer test procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry best practices.

Prepare and present weekly and monthly commissioning progress reports, highlighting project status, key milestones, risks, and mitigation plans.

What we’re looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in data center commissioning, data center M&E design, or other mission-critical facilities.

Strong knowledge of data center HVAC systems, commissioning activities, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

Familiarity with various electrical and mechanical system topologies designed for site redundancy, concurrent maintainability, and fault-tolerant operations.

Practical experience with Uptime Institute Tier standards, certification processes, design reviews, commissioning, and operational readiness is highly advantageous.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical documentation skills.

A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and delivering mission-critical projects.
