Job summary

MESSER INDUSTRIAL GASES SDN. BHD. in Semenyih is seeking a responsible Lorry Driver to ensure safe and timely delivery and collection of packaged gas products, while adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

You will perform pre-delivery checks, operate forklifts where authorized, maintain accurate delivery documentation, and communicate professionally with customers, ensuring proper handover of products.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence relevant to the vehicle.
• GDL licence / Lisense E may be required depending on the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Safe delivery of packaged gas products within the designated area and occasionally to outstation locations.
• Follow site safety policies and road safety requirements.
• Operate forklifts for loading/unloading of gas cylinders where authorised.
• Ensure delivery documents (DO) and GTS records are completed accurately.
• Meet daily and monthly delivery and collection targets safely.
• Comply with local transportation regulations and company safety rules.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Assist with routine fleet and tanker inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
• Communicate professionally with customers and hand over products/documentation.
• Report accidents or delays promptly to the supervisor.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible and safety-conscious Lorry Driver to join our team in Semenyih Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of packaged gas products while ensuring full compliance with company safety procedures, road safety requirements and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Delivery: Execute the safe delivery of packaged gas products within the designated area and occasionally to outstation locations.

Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all site safety policies, life-saving rules, road safety policies and identified safety requirements.

Operational Tasks: Operate forklifts for the loading and unloading of gas cylinders, where authorised, and handle loose products using appropriate lifting aids.

Documentation: Ensure all delivery documents, including Delivery Orders (DO) and GTS data records, are completed accurately and readily accessible.

Delivery Targets: Meet daily and monthly delivery and collection targets while maintaining safe operating practices.

Regulatory Compliance: Comply with applicable local transportation regulations and all company safety and operational requirements.

Vehicle Safety: Conduct daily vehicle safety checks using the pre-delivery checklist and report any defects or abnormalities before commencing delivery.

Fleet Inspection: Assist with routine fleet and tanker inspections before delivery as required.

Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of the assigned vehicle and equipment.

Report any accidents, incidents, delays, vehicle defects or delivery issues promptly to the supervisor.

Communicate professionally with customers and ensure proper handover of products and documentation.

Perform other duties related to transportation and delivery as assigned.

Requirements

Possess a valid driving licence relevant to the assigned vehicle.

GDL licence / Lisense E will be an advantage / may be required depending on the vehicle assigned.

Previous experience as a driver, preferably in logistics, transportation or industrial gas-related operations.

Physically fit and able to handle loading and unloading activities.

Good knowledge of Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas.

Responsible, punctual and safety-conscious.

Able to work independently and follow instructions.

Willing to work overtime when required.
