Job summary

MKS Instruments Malaysia is seeking a Logistics Specialist to manage import/export, customs clearance, warehouse and transport operations, serving as a backup for the Singapore site and coordinating with Sales, CS, and Planners.

You will monitor 3PL performance, ensure regulatory compliance, drive cost-saving initiatives, and collaborate across functions to ensure timely and compliant logistics in a fast-paced chemical-industry environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Experience in Logistics, chemical industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local and international regulations related to chemicals.
• Knowledge of SAP logistics module and Office software.
• Good command of spoken and written English and local languages.
• Self-motivated with urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
• Ability to coordinate across functions and locations for successful outcomes.
• Effective time management and prioritization.
• Experience with 3rd party Logistics coordination and management.

Responsibilities

• Manage import, export, customs clearance, warehouse, and transport operations to ensure procedures and KPIs are met.
• Manage 3PL vendors' performance including freight forwarder, customs broker, warehouse, and transporter.
• Analyze gaps/failures in 3PL vendors and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor 3PL invoices to ensure costs are billed correctly and timely.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for chemicals and related licenses and storage.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Logistics Specialist at MSD Atotech, you will partner with Sales, CS team, Planner and others to manage International Logistics Operation, mainly for Atotech Malaysia (serve as a backup for Atotech Singapore as well. In this role, you will report to the Logistics Team Lead - SEA.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Manage import, export, customs clearance, warehouse, and transport operations to ensure all agreed procedures and KPIs are met.
• Manages 3PL vendors performance including freight forwarder, customs broker, warehouse, and transporter, to ensure all agreed KPIs are met.
• Analyze gaps/failure in 3PL vendors and set up corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor 3PL vendors invoices to ensure costs are billed correctly and timely.
• Monitor the regulation changes and ensure regulatory compliance in all local aspects i.e. IMDG, IATA, road transport, customs, import/export licenses, labels, DG storage and waste disposal.
• Initiate and verify cost saving programs such as trade privileges, shipment consolidation, route optimization and space optimization, etc.
• Be a company representative or coordinate with authorized local representatives to deal with government officials for import/export/customs compliance issue.
• Share best practices and interacting with counterparts across the region and globally.
• Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Conduct stock take to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Additional responsibility: “Safety remains the number one priority by making it an integral part in all activities; Ensure all work is completed safety & in compliance with laws, regulations & Atotech standards. Demonstrate ongoing visibility at sites & consistent interaction with staff and contractors at all levels”.
• HSE Responsibilities: Safety remains the number 1 priority by making it an integral part in all activities. Employees must re-view their work areas to identify hazards and assess risks and opportunities. Any hazards or injuries must be reported to your immediate superior. The employee must comply with the HSEQS policy and other related regulations.
• Participate in HSE promotional activities such as risk assessment and suggestions scheme and near miss reporting.
• Back up for Logistics Operation in Atotech Singapore.
• Travel Requirements: Up to [10] % of Travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

• Candidate must possess at least bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or any related fields.
• Experience in Logistics, chemical industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of local and international regulations related to chemicals (add advantage).
• Knowledge of SAP logistic module and Office software.
• Good command of spoken and written communication skills in English and local language(s).
• Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
• Ability to coordinate across functions and locations to ensure successful outcomes.
• Effective time management skills including sequencing of own work and resource time management.
• Experience with 3rd party Logistics coordination and management.
