Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a senior Network and Security Engineer to lead design, implementation, and management of enterprise network and security platforms in a high-availability environment.

You will provide technical leadership for Linux-based networking and security infrastructure, design scalable architectures, implement cloud-native networking, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with infra, cloud, DevOps and security teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, Linux systems, and network security.
• Strong experience with NixOS administration and system configuration.
• Hands-on experience with Cilium for Kubernetes networking, security, and observability.
• Experience deploying and managing Suricata for IDS/IPS.
• Strong knowledge of nftables for Linux firewall configuration and network packet filtering.
• Experience with Zeek for network traffic analysis, monitoring, and threat detection.

Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of nftables for Linux firewall configuration and network packet filtering.
• Experience with Zeek (formerly Bro) for network traffic analysis, monitoring, and threat detection.
• Strong understanding of Linux networking concepts, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting complex networking and security issues in production environments.
• Knowledge of container platforms, Kubernetes, and cloud-native networking is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or scripting using Bash/Python is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Industry certifications such as RHCE, CKA, CKS, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
• Experience working in enterprise, cloud, or managed services environments.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, and security best practices.
• Experience with SIEM, monitoring, and observability platforms is an added advantage.
