Job summary

Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia in Sepang, Selangor invites applications for a legal professional with solid knowledge of contract, corporate and energy law within the Malaysian regulatory landscape.

You should hold a Bachelor of Laws - LL.B (Hons) and have at least 2 years of relevant in-house or similar experience, with demonstrated drafting, review, and advisory skills in energy policy and regulatory matters. Strong Malay and English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• LL.B (Hons) required.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment, preferably in-house.
• Well versed in contract law, company law, corporate law, land law and preferably familiar with the energy law in Malaysia.
• Knowledge on energy policy, electricity supply industry and sustainable energy policy in Malaysia would be highly advantageous.
• Familiar with the government regulatory frameworks.
• Able to draft and review legal documents.
• Able to provide legal opinion and advise on all areas of law.
• Able to identify legal issues and provide solutions from legal perspective.
• Knowledge in drafting and reviewing any principal, subsidiary and amending legislations; and
• Able to conduct research or studies on legal matters.

Technical requirements for the post are as follows:

• Possess a Bachelor of Laws - LL.B (Hons);
