Job summary

ONG & RAYMOND HOR in Malaysia is seeking a talented lawyer to manage assigned legal matters from start to finish, provide opinions to clients, and draft and review legal documents. You will conduct legal research, stay updated on laws, attend to clients and authorities, and handle conveyancing or civil litigation depending on practice area.

Ideal candidates have LL.B, be called to the Malaysian Bar, at least 3 years' experience with SME matters, strong drafting and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• LL.B or equivalent recognised in Malaysia.
• Called to the Malaysian Bar / Advocate & Solicitor.
• 3+ years of legal practice experience preferred.
• Experience with SME-related matters is an advantage.
• Strong drafting, research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage assigned legal matters and files from commencement to completion.
• Provide legal advice and opinions to clients within the firm’s practice areas.
• Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, agreements, letters, pleadings, and related papers.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and developments.
• Attend to clients, courts, banks, developers, government departments, and others as required.
• Handle conveyancing and/or civil litigation matters depending on the practice area.
• Monitor progress, deadlines, payments, and outstanding matters.
• Liaise with clients, counterpart solicitors, banks, developers, and stakeholders.
• Attend court hearings, case managements, meetings, signings, and appointments.
• Collaborate with clerks and team to ensure timely file handling.
