Job summary

UOW Malaysia KDU invites applications for a Lecturer in Food & Beverage & Beverage Studies. You will deliver lectures and tutorials, supervise hands-on sessions in restaurant and beverage labs, and mentor students across hospitality programs.

The role focuses on developing teaching materials, assessments, and practical activities aligned with learning outcomes, plus organizing workshops and industry demonstrations. Renewable 2-year contract with potential for renewal is offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, International Hospitality, Foodservice Management, or related disciplines.
• Strong passion for teaching Food & Beverage service and beverage-related subjects.
• Industry experience in restaurants, cafés, beverage operations, barista training, or hotel F&B departments.
• Young candidates encouraged to apply.
• Professional certifications in beverage, hospitality, or culinary fields.
• WSET or other recognized beverage certifications advantageous.
• Knowledge in coffee, tea, mixology, beverage pairing, or barista skills.
• Demonstrated interest in research, publications, and scholarly activities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint) and digital teaching tools.
• Ability to deliver interactive and experiential learning in classroom and restaurant laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical training in Food & Beverage Service, Beverage Studies, Restaurant Operations, and Hospitality Management.

• Train students in F&B operational skills, including table service, café operations, beverage preparation, and guest experience management.

• Organize and support F&B-related workshops, beverage tasting sessions, barista training, industry demonstrations, and competitions.
• Supervise student projects, internships, and industry-based learning related to restaurant and beverage operations.

• Engage in research, scholarly activities, and industry collaborations within the hospitality and beverage sector.
• Provide academic mentoring, guidance, and support to students.

Job Requirements:

Master’s or Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, International Hospitality, Foodservice Management, or related disciplines.
