Job summary

City University Malaysia invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Culinary Arts to deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical classes.

The successful candidate will develop course materials, assessments, supervise students, and contribute to curriculum development while maintaining industry links.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field, with teaching experience in higher education preferred and strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical culinary classes.
• Develop course materials, lesson plans, assessments, and practical activities.
• Teach subjects related to culinary techniques, food preparation, menu development, kitchen operations, food safety, pastry and baking, and contemporary culinary practices.
• Supervise and assess students in practical work, projects, internships, and industry-based activities.
• Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme review, and academic quality assurance.
• Participate in MQA-related activities and documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with culinary, food and beverage, and hospitality industry partners.
• Participate in culinary events, competitions, workshops, demonstrations, research, publications, and other academic activities.
• Undertake administrative and other duties assigned by the Faculty.
