Job summary

Berry Group Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a passionate Barista Trainer to deliver professional training, develop high-quality course materials and support the promotion of barista programs.

The role involves delivering theory and hands-on practice, assessing learners, and designing training modules to meet industry standards. Strong communication and Mandarin proficiency are valued for engaging Mandarin-speaking students and parents.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Barista or related subject.
• Mandarin proficiency is encouraged for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking students and parents.
• Experience as a professional barista or barista trainer is preferred; fresh graduates with strong knowledge are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Conduct professional barista training for beginners and advanced learners.
• Deliver both theoretical lessons and hands-on practical training.
• Assess learners' knowledge, skills and overall competency.
• Design and develop barista training modules, lesson plans and manuals.
• Prepare student handbooks, trainer guides and presentation slides.

Saturday to Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Barista Trainer to deliver professional coffee training, develop high-quality academic materials and support the promotion of our barista courses.

Key responsibilities

Conduct professional barista training for beginner and advanced learners

Deliver both theoretical lessons and hands-on practical training

Assess learners' knowledge, practical skills and overall competency

Design and develop barista training modules, lesson plans and training manuals

Prepare student handbooks, trainer guides, presentation slides and other learning resources

Develop quizzes, assignments, assessment tools and practical evaluation rubrics

Maintain coffee machines, grinders, brewing equipment and training facilities

Ensure the training area complies with cleanliness, safety and operational standards

Stay updated on coffee industry developments, techniques, trends and innovations

Participate in promotional videos, live events, or marketing campaigns as a subject matter expert when required.

Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive, and personalised feedback.

Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

What We're Looking For

Possess at least a Diploma in Barista or any relevant subject

Candidates proficient in Mandarin are encouraged to apply to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking students and parents.

Relevant experience as a professional barista or barista trainer is preferred

Fresh graduates with strong barista knowledge, practical skills or relevant professional certification are encouraged to apply

Professional barista certification, such as SCA, ACI or an equivalent qualification, is an advantage

TVET or skills-training certification, such as VTO, TTT or an equivalent qualification, is an added advantage

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Confident and comfortable appearing in marketing videos and social media content

Passionate about coffee, education and developing learners

Able to create structured, professional and engaging training materials

Responsible, organised and able to work independently or as part of a team

Creative, responsible, and committed to continuous improvement.
