Job summary

RoviSys is seeking a Lead Automation/Systems Engineer in Malaysia to act as a software or hardware lead on projects. You will translate functional and design specifications into control system implementations, and mentor engineers while supporting training plans.

You will work with engineers and designers to deliver state-of-the-art control systems that improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability for process manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with excellent communication and collaboration.
• B.S in Engineering, Physics or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years as an engineer with automation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians on control system projects.
• Design electrical panels, control architecture and wiring drawings.
• Define and implement PLC/DCS configurations to meet client needs.
• Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
• Support process control clients at sites in Malaysia and abroad.

Job description

A Lead Automation/Systems Engineer at RoviSys will serve as a software or hardware lead on projects, as well as possess the ability to understand functional specifications and/or design specifications and translate that knowledge in the implementation of control systems. A lead engineer will be expected to develop skills required to successfully implement an entire project from both a control system software and hardware standpoint. A Lead Engineer will act as a mentor to Engineers and support training plans for Engineers.

Description of work

• Work in a team environment with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to provide state of the art Control system to improve efficiency, product quality and profitability of process manufacturing.
• Design Electrical panels, Control Architecture and wiring drawings.
• Conduct engineering calculations, system sizing and equipment selection.
• Development of technical documentation such as Control Panels, Control System Architecture, System P&ID, Schematics and Specification documentation
• Define and implement programmable logic controller (PLC)/ladder design, distributed control system (DCS) configuration to meet client needs.
• Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
• Support of process control clients at sites in Malaysia and aboard.
• Will lead team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for clients.
• Will have opportunities to manage small-scale project of 1-3 people.
• Candidates who posses experience in complex building automation systems, HVAC and other building systems would be advantageous.

Control System Knowledge

• Industry 4.0 applications.
• Electrical design, Process Control and Building Automation fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Controllers, such as single loop control, PLC, DCS or PC based control.
• IOT devices, communications protocols and connectivity.
• Exposure to Control Theory and some process understanding is helpful but not required.
• Platforms: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.
• Process understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control, etc.
• Process understanding of Chiller Controls, HVAC Controls, etc.
• Awareness of process safety, validation and good documentation practices.
• Programming languages: PLC ladder Logic, Function Block, SFC VB, etc.
• Third-party HMI/SCADA Software, i.e. Ignition, FTView SE, AVEVA System Platform, TIA Portal, etc.
• Others: Network design/administration.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people.
• B.S in Engineering, Physics and related fields.
• Min. 2 years as an Engineer with exposure to automation.
