Job summary

RoviSys in Malaysia is seeking a Lead Automation/Systems Engineer to guide projects, translating functional and design specifications into robust control system implementations. You will act as a software or hardware lead and mentor engineers across assignments.

You will develop both hardware and software solutions, conduct on-site commissioning, and oversee small project teams (1–3 people) while supporting clients in Malaysia and abroad.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with excellent communication—works well in teams.
• Minimum 2 years as an engineer with exposure to automation.
• B.S. in Engineering, Physics or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to deliver state-of-the-art control systems.
• Conduct engineering calculations, system sizing and equipment selection.
• Develop technical documentation: Control Panels, System P&ID, Schematics and specifications.
• Define and implement PLC/DCS configurations to meet client needs.
• Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
• Support process control clients at sites in Malaysia and abroad.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions.

Job description

A Lead Automation/Systems Engineer at RoviSys will serve as a software or hardware lead on projects, as well as possess the ability to understand functional specifications and/or design specifications and translate that knowledge in the implementation of control systems. A lead engineer will be expected to develop skills required to successfully implement an entire project from both a control system software and hardware standpoint. A Lead Engineer will act as a mentor to Engineers and support training plans for Engineers.

Description of work:

• Work in a team environment with engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners and clients to provide state of the art Control system to improve efficiency, product quality and profitability of process manufacturing.
• Conduct engineering calculations, system sizing and equipment selection.
• Development of technical documentation such as Control Panels, Control System Architecture, System P&ID, Schematics and Specification documentation
• Define and implement programmable logic controller (PLC)/ladder design, distributed control system (DCS) configuration to meet client needs.
• Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
• Support of process control clients at sites in Malaysia and aboard.
• Will lead team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for clients.
• Will have opportunities to manage small-scale project of 1-3 people.
• Candidates who posses experience in complex building automation systems, HVAC and other building systems would be advantageous.
• Industry 4.0 applications.
• Electrical design, Process Control and Building Automation fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Controllers, such as single loop control, PLC, DCS or PC based control.
• IOT devices, communications protocols and connectivity.
• Exposure to Control Theory and some process understanding is helpful but not required.
• Process understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control, etc.
• Process understanding of Chiller Controls, HVAC Controls, etc.
• Awareness of process safety, validation and good documentation practices.
• Third-party HMI/SCADA Software, i.e. Ignition, FTView SE, AVEVA System Platform, TIA Portal, etc.
• Others: Network design/administration.

Qualifications:
