Job summary

ABB in Malaysia is seeking an experienced structural engineer to act as a design authority for marine and offshore structures. You will perform analyses, develop drawings and specifications, and ensure compliance with contract specs, quality and safety requirements.

This onsite role requires coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in marine/offshore structural engineering and advanced proficiency in SACS, STAAD Pro, ANSYS,

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience in Marine & Offshore, FPSO, E-House, Oil & Gas, or industrial facility projects.
• Proficient in offshore and modular steel structures design; familiarity with codes and classification society regs.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and optimization using industry-standard software.
• Develop structural designs, drawings, specs, and technical documentation including GA, detailed, isometric, and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements; coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Manage structural activities through project execution, including reviews, procurement support, fabrication follow-up, and schedule management.
• Support installation, commissioning, and operation phases by addressing issues and updating documentation.
