Hyppies, a B2B, fully licensed programmable digital bank, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer in Kuala Lumpur. You will lead QA strategy and drive test automation across web and API layers within a CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience with web and API test automation using Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Strong regression, integration, and end-to-end testing experience across web and/or API layers.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Nice-to-have: performance or security testing tools, React Native testing, and fintech domain exposure.

What you will be doing

• Lead QA strategy and processes - the overall delivery of test automation frameworks, contribute to improving QA standards, documentation and best practices within the team
• Implement and optimize test automation as part of the CI/CD pipeline, monitor and maintain test environments to ensure continuous test coverage

Must-have skills

• Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch - designing, developing and maintaining automated test suites
• Strong experience in using tools equivalent to Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Typescript, Python, .NET etc.
• Experience in regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across web and/or API layers
• Curious, adaptable and enjoys solving ambiguous engineering problems
• Excellent communication skills - able to explain complex technical concepts simply

Nice-to-have

• Experience with performance or security testing tools
• Experience testing React Native mobile apps
• Initial years in software engineering
• Experience in payments, banking or fintech infrastructure - cryptocurrencies, stablecoins or digital asset infrastructure
• Experience with Open-source contributions, technical writing, blogs or community involvement

Grade | Level

• Technical leadership + hands-on - you will be spearheading QA standards and practices for the KL engineering team
• 5+ years of software testing experience > strong QA fundamentals in both manual and automation testing, and ideally experienced in developing automation tests for a variety of tech products

Work Arrangement

• Full time hybrid, 3 days working in office - Tuesdays to Thursdays weekly
• Office located in TRX (to be confirmed)
