Job summary

Intel Corporation in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced hardware design engineer to lead the development of platform boards, ensuring SI/PI, signal integrity, power delivery, and manufacturability are met. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive bring-up, validation, and debugging of complex PCB solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in platform hardware design, proficiency in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD and Mentor Graphics, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of platform hardware design, board design, electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and develop complex platform hardware solutions including schematic capture, component selection, board-level architecture, and subsystem integration.
• Translate platform requirements into detailed electrical specifications, schematics, placement constraints, routing requirements, and implementation guidelines.
• Develop and review high-speed interface implementations including DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CXL, and other high-speed interfaces.
• Define PCB stack-up requirements, impedance control, return path optimization, power delivery implementation, and routing constraints.
• Review and approve schematics, components, and layouts to meet electrical requirements.
• Lead PCB layout and routing reviews to improve signal integrity and manufacturability.
• Generate platform design guidelines, routing rules, electrical specs, and best practices.
• Perform system-level electrical analysis including SI/PI, timing, and margins.
• Collaborate with layout, packaging, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams for bring-up.
• Lead board bring-up, electrical validation, root cause analysis, and debugging.
