Job summary

Bureau Veritas (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Surveyor to lead offshore rig inspections along the East Coast. The role focuses on ensuring mechanical integrity of jack‑up and tender assisted rigs through detailed surveys and reporting.

You will bring 10+ years in oilfield services, hands‑on rig experience, and strong communication with clients and project stakeholders to drive safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of oilfield industry experience within the last 15 years.
• At least 5 years of independent third-party rig inspections, specifically Jack‑Up Rigs and Tender Assisted Rigs.
• Previous experience in a senior offshore maintenance position, such as Chief Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, Rig Engineer, or an equivalent role.
• Mandatory hands‑on exposure and experience with Jack‑Up Rig operations and maintenance.
• Sound knowledge of offshore drilling rig mechanical systems, maintenance practices, inspection methodologies, and integrity management.
• Ability to conduct detailed rig inspections, identify technical findings, and prepare comprehensive inspection reports.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Must be Malaysian and willing to be based in the East Cost of Malaysia.
