Job summary

S P Setia is seeking an experienced legal professional to support its Project Development Section in a broad range of legal areas including research, dispute resolution, and document preparation for litigation and advisory services related to project development, tenancies, and property conveyancing.

The role involves managing all litigation matters for the Setia Group, liaising with external solicitors, and providing timely updates to senior management, while ensuring compliance with applicable

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or degree in law.
• CLP or called to the Malaysian Bar.
• Minimum 8 years of litigation experience.
• Experience in project development, construction, contracts preferred.
• Strong communication and drafting skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Detail-oriented and proactive.
• Knowledge of property development, land, housing, commercial laws.
• Experience with litigation and conveyancing matters.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Development Section in varied legal areas, including research and dispute resolution.
• Manage and monitor all litigation matters related to project development and construction.
• Manage risk exposure and ensure statutory compliance.
• Coordinate with external solicitors and other advisors; brief senior management.
• Draft, review, advise and negotiate contracts related to project development.
• Research legal updates and advise on impact and compliance.
• Report to the General Manager, Project Services and ensure duties comply with laws and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
