Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to manage maintenance of a large-scale air separation plant. The role focuses on implementing reliability strategies, leading PM/CM activities and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will coordinate field instrument calibration, DCS/PLC troubleshooting, and networked instrumentation, with English and Mandarin proficiency essential for coordination with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/automation engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on instrumentation and controls experience in industrial gas/petrochemicals.
• Familiarity with ISA and IEC standards.
• English and Mandarin proficiency for coordination with Chinese partners.
• Experience with SAP maintenance modules is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities for field transmitters, control valves, analysers, PLC and DCS systems.
• Implement reliability strategies and manage CMMS planning and work orders.
• Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.
