Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled Heat Treatment Engineer to develop and optimize processes that meet product specifications and quality standards. You will collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to validate new technologies, document process flow, control plans, and work instructions, and lead PFMEA activities to mitigate risks and improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of heat treatment processes and metallurgical principles.
• Experience with PFMEA, process control, and quality management systems.
• Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.) and environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with NADCAP standard will be advantage.
• Hands-on experience with furnace operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize heat treatment processes to meet product specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, production, and quality teams to implement new technologies and validate processes through trials and metallurgical analysis.
• Establish and control process parameters, including documentation of process flow, control plans, and work instructions.
• Create and standardize operating instructions for furnace operations, material handling, quenching, and cooling to ensure consistency and repeatability.
• Lead PFMEA activities to identify process risks, implement mitigation actions, and continuously update risk assessments based on feedback and audits.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance by enforcing protocols, conducting audits, and training personnel in safe heat treatment practices.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and reliability, including preventive/predictive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair coordination.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, product quality, equipment uptime, and operational excellence.
