Job summary

Argyll Scott Singapore is hiring a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to join a major Finance and Data transformation programme in Kuala Lumpur. This is a hands-on role blending full-stack development, Databricks, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions, working directly with business, Finance and Technology stakeholders to move ideas from prototype to production.

You will design, build and productionise enterprise applications, APIs and data integrations using React, SQL and Databricks

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience across software engineering, full-stack development, data platforms or technical delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, SQL, APIs and front-end/back-end development.
• Experience integrating applications with Databricks; Databricks Apps experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native applications, enterprise integration and secure development.
• Experience delivering applications from prototype/MVP through to production.

Responsibilities

Lead Forward Deployed Engineer – Full Stack, Databricks & AI / 20-27k P/M

Location: Kuala Lumpur
Contract: 12-month extendable contract, with potential conversion to permanent
Salary: MYR 20,000 – 27,000 per month

We are hiring a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to join a major Finance and Data transformation programme in Kuala Lumpur. This is a highly hands-on role combining full-stack development, Databricks, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions, working directly with business, Finance and Technology stakeholders to take ideas from prototype through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and productionise enterprise applications, workflows, APIs and data integrations.
• Develop solutions using Databricks Apps, React, SQL, APIs and Databricks data/compute capabilities.
• Work directly with Finance, Data and Technology stakeholders to translate complex business problems into practical technical solutions.
• Rapidly prototype new solutions and convert successful concepts into secure, controlled production releases.
• Design end-to-end solutions covering front-end, back-end, data integration, APIs, security and workflow automation.
• Support AI and agentic engineering use cases, including agent workflows, tool orchestration, MCP-style integrations and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Apply strong engineering practices across Git, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, release management and production support.
• Ensure appropriate security, role-based access, audit trails, logging and data protection controls.

Requirements

• Around 8+ years' experience across software engineering, full-stack development, data platforms, solution architecture or technical implementation.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, SQL, APIs and front-end/back-end development.
• Experience integrating applications with Databricks; Databricks Apps experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native applications, enterprise integration and secure development.
• Experience delivering applications from prototype / MVP through to production.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to operate between business and technical teams.
• Consulting, transformation or client-facing delivery experience is highly advantageous.
• Financial Services, Insurance or Finance transformation experience would be beneficial.
• Exposure to AI agents, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, MCP or similar AI engineering tools would be a strong advantage.

12-month initial contract, extendable with potential to convert to a permanent position.
