Job summary

FFM Further Processing Sdn Bhd in Pulau Indah, Klang is seeking a dedicated R&D professional to plan, design and conduct product development studies, analyse data and communicate findings to guide strategic decisions.

You will supervise technicians, ensure Halal compliance and maintain GMP/ISO22000/HACCP standards while coordinating with suppliers, production and QA to deliver safe, high-quality foods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Food Technology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience and/or training in relevant industry.
• Familiar with Management Food Safety System, GMP, ISO22000 and HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Develop product formulation & process flow; update formulation & process flow.
• Monitor and coordinate activities related to new/existing product development.
• Liaise with supplier for new product samples and documents (e.g., specification, halal cert).
• Conduct experiments and produce sample products.
• Carry out pilot plant trials in production and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve problems.
• Attend external meetings with clients, marketing team and other parties as needed.
• Conduct internal training related to R&D.
• Undertake basic and applied research into food processing, preservation, quality, packaging, storage and delivery.
• Analyse results and update documents in R&D.
• Conduct sensory evaluation for new/existing product samples.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians.
• Ensure all raw materials and ingredients used are Halal certified (JAKIM).
• Develop Product Sensory Standard and conduct sensory screening.
• Develop and analyse Technical List.
• Develop alternate supplier lists for ingredients and raw materials.
• Prepare product costing based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitability.
• Formulate recommendations to develop new or improved products, processes and cost savings.
• Ensure R&D resources are well kept and maintained.
• Involve in packaging artwork development and ensure labeling complies with the law.
• Other duties as assigned.
