Job summary

DayOne in Malaysia is seeking an experienced leader to head testing and commissioning for data centre projects. You will supervise a team of engineers, drive strategies, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety and industry standards.

The role requires 7–10 years in data centre testing and operations, deep knowledge of HVAC, power, and network systems, and strong client-facing communication. Occasional regional travel may be required to coordinate across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 7–10 years in data centre testing, commissioning, and operations.
• Proven leadership with ability to manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure (HVAC, power, network).
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Certifications in CPM or CSCP preferred.
• Familiarity with Southeast Asia regulations and business environment.
• Willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of testing and commissioning engineers and technicians.
• Develop and implement testing and commissioning strategies.
• Oversee testing and commissioning for all data centre projects in country.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to meet timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and safety.
• Develop protocols and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Review and approve test plans and commissioning documentation.
• Serve as the primary client contact during testing and commissioning.
