Job summary

Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad is seeking a seasoned AVP for Business Systems & Applications within the Content Engineering team. You will lead end-to-end metadata workflows, AI-enabled content processes, and 24/7 operational governance across scheduling, AMS, MAM integrations, and distribution.

The role requires 10+ years in IT/media ops, strong governance, and leadership of in-house dev/automation teams. Excellent stakeholder management and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, broadcast, media operations or content technology.
• Experience leading small in-house development teams and automation initiatives.
• Familiarity with agile delivery, sprint planning, release coordination and resource planning.
• Knowledge of MSSQL/MySQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience governing metadata and AI-enabled workflows in media/entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end metadata and AI-enabled content workflows for the broadcast ecosystem.
• Translate business requirements into scalable workflow solutions and governance.
• Oversee platform capacity, maintenance, governance and delivery prioritization.
• Engage stakeholders across content, scheduling, metadata, digital, distribution, engineering and product teams.
• Manage in-house development and automation team, including sprint planning and release readiness.
• Establish governance for metadata/AI workflows, data protection and risk controls.
