Job summary

AIA Digital+ is the technology, digital and analytics hub joining AIA Group. We seek a software engineer with 3–5 years of backend development experience using .NET Core and/or Node.js, plus frontend skills with React.

Strong MSSQL, RESTful APIs, and microservices are required. You will work with CI/CD, version control, and secure design practices to deliver high-quality AIAS enhancements and maintain system stability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in .NET Core and/or Node.js.
• Frontend development with React.
• Strong MSSQL Server database knowledge, performance tuning.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
• Experience with unit tests (Jest, xUnit) is a plus.
• Knowledge of ORM frameworks (EF, Hibernate, Dapper).
• Ability to work independently and follow secure design practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver backend and frontend enhancements within scope, timeline and budget.
• Provide production support by resolving incidents and ensuring system stability (≥99.94%).
• Maintain code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices.
• Manage security and compliance by remediating vulnerabilities and audit findings.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, test coverage, and reducing tech debt.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support delivery and operational outcomes.
• Ensure alignment with corporate responsibilities and security-by-design principles.
• Proactively adopt engineering best practices and maintain documentation.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Experience & Technical Skills:
• Possess 3-5 years of experience in backend development, preferably using .NET Core and/or Node.js.
• Demonstrate proficiency in frontend development, particularly with the React framework.
• Apply strong knowledge of databases and SQL (MSSQL Server), including performance tuning and query optimization.
• Utilize RESTful APIs and microservices architecture in application design and integration.
• Use version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and integrated security tools like GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket within the development lifecycle.
• Preferred Skills (Advantageous):
• Experience in writing and maintaining unit tests (e.g., Jest, xUnit).
• Familiarity with shell scripting.
• Knowledge of ORM frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework, Hibernate, Dapper).
• Core Competencies:
• Demonstrate strong understanding of change management processes and incident/problem resolution.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
• Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E), documentation, and conducting thorough code reviews.
