Job summary

Gen is seeking a Manager, Machine Learning & AI to lead a team building scalable machine learning and AI solutions that drive measurable business impact. You will blend people leadership with technical direction and work with Product, Engineering, Data, and platform teams to deliver production-ready AI.

You will shape the team roadmap, set engineering standards, translate ambiguous problems into practical opportunities, and mentor engineers to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading ML/AI initiatives from idea to production.
• Experience mentoring technical team members.
• Strong foundation in ML, experimentation, statistics, and software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience deploying ML systems in production.
• Ability to frame business problems and guide scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication across stakeholders.
• Familiarity with MLOps and production workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Exposure to NLP, search, GenAI patterns is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing ML/AI team with ownership and technical excellence.
• Shape the technical direction of ML/AI initiatives aligned with product goals, priority.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and platform teams to translate business problems into ML/AI solutions.
• Guide projects from exploration to production, monitoring, and iteration.
• Set and maintain standards for experimentation, model evaluation, reliability, and governance.
• Help design scalable ML systems, workflows, and development practices to accelerate delivery.
• Provide architectural guidance without bottlenecking the team.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Research and guide adoption of new ML ideas, including GenAI where value is clear.
• Build repeatable capabilities and reusable internal ML frameworks across projects.
