Job description

The Lead 3D Artist will be working within a dynamic and fast-growing 3D team, this role is a part of a very creative section of the business. This role is responsible for producing a variety of 3D images for our clients' products - for some of the biggest brands in the world. This role requires exceptional realism, quality modelling, texturing and lighting skills.

Lead 3D Artist can help bring new ideas to life through top-notch visualization and design skills. He or she will work closely with the creative team to come up with cutting edge and innovative images using the resources that are available.

Lead 3D Artist should be able to multitask, work well with others and communicate effectively. He/ she should be able to work quickly and productively while also bringing new ideas to the table and thinking outside the box. He/ she should be an extremely motivated individual who gets the job done in a timely fashion. May provide direction to other 3D colleagues (e.g. 3D Artist).

Job Responsibilities

Production of photorealistic renders of our clients packaging and products.

Visualization of packaging concepts working from design sketches.

Creation of libraries of 3D meshes for common packaging types.

Build complex packaging products at a fast-pace in 3D Studio Max (modeling and/or mapping).

Use intensive problem solving skills to create original and innovative solutions.

Assist in management of render farm and queue management.

Interpretation of supplied CAD data into photorealistic renders.

Application of Photoshop post work to rendered scenes as required.

Provide clear direction to other colleagues and able to mentor junior level artists.

Proactively anticipate and resolve issues.

Resolve and problem solve escalated issues.

Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Secondary School (e.g. High School) Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.

College degree (e.g. Bachelor of Arts) within appropriate discipline such as 3D, Arts, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Advertising, Interior Design or other related fields such as fine arts or fashion discipline preferred.

5+ years of previous commercial experience in a 3D production environment experience is required.

Required: English written and spoken.

Required software skills: Autodesk 3DS MAX, VRAY, Adobe Creative Suite.

Applicants will be required to work on shift patterns and overtime with appropriate remuneration.

Ability to travel as necessary.

High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.

Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).

Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
