Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is seeking a Senior Supply Chain professional in Malaysia to lead launch readiness, design value streams, and coordinate with Operations, Business Line and Sales to ensure timely supply for new products.

The role requires 5+ years in semiconductors and deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, with ERP and reporting skills. Strong communication and intercultural skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field.
• 5+ years in semiconductor supply chain or related domain.
• Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and planning.
• Proficiency in ERP systems; MS Office for reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of JIRA and PIA is advantageous.
• Strong communication, negotiation and cross-functional skills.
• English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth product launch verifying all SCM-relevant prerequisites for product development projects (mainly SubCon & Turnkey products).
• Manage value stream design, inventory and allocation planning for dedicated product launch projects.
• Collaborate with all relevant partners in Operations, Business Line and Sales functions to ensure on-time product supply and readiness for series production.
• Prepare risk analyses related to material supply, inventory build-up, and delivery schedules as needed.
• In the event of potential supply shortages, prepare decision-making documents, support defined mitigation measures, and provide the necessary monitoring and reporting.
• Support sample planning and sample deliveries for dedicated projects during the development phase (prior to mass production readiness).

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Ensure smooth product launch verifying all SCM-relevant prerequisites for product development projects (mainly SubCon & Turnkey products).
• Manage value stream design, inventory and allocation planning for dedicated product launch projects.
• Collaborate with all relevant partners in Operations, Business Line and Sales functions to ensure on-time product supply and readiness for series production.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree and/or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5+ years in semiconductor field or related Supply Chain knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and supply planning.
• Proficient in ERP systems with advanced Microsoft Office skills for reporting, data analysis, and presentations. Knowledge of JIRA and PIA is an added advantage.
• Project management experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer and service orientation, combined with negotiation skills and the ability to influence and drive decisions.
• Cross-functional mindset and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, in a structured manner, and with strong analytical thinking.
• Internal exposure due to closed collaboration with different teams in Germany.
• Strong social and intercultural competencies.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
