Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a laboratory assistant to support routine tests and sample handling in a busy lab setting. You will follow approved methods and SOPs while maintaining accurate records and safe workflows.

You will assist with sample prep, labeling, and storage, ensure clean work areas, monitor environmental conditions, and adhere to GDP and safety standards. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and safety.
• Good attention to details and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willing to learn and work in a laboratory environment.
• Responsible, organized and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory personnel in performing routine laboratory testing according to approved test methods, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Perform sample preparation, labelling, handling and storage according to laboratory procedures.
• Assist in conducting ESD, cleanliness, particle, microbiological, and other laboratory tests as assigned.
• Record test results and laboratory data accurately and promptly.
• Assist with preparation and organization of worksheets, and laboratory records.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, tools and work areas are clean and properly maintained.
• Assist in monitoring laboratory environmental conditions such as temperature and relative humidity.
• Follow Good Documentation Practice (GDP), laboratory safety requirements and applicable SOPs.
• Assist with sample retention, disposal and waste segregation activities.
• Report any abnormal test results, equipment issues, damaged samples, or safety concerns to the laboratory personnel.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness, housekeeping and organization of the laboratory.
