Job summary

Farben Technique in Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support formulation development by running structured laboratory experiments and preparing samples based on customer requirements.

You will safeguard product identification and traceability, maintain equipment, and contribute to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality systems. This onsite role is based at Sungai Bakap, Penang, with opportunities to work closely with production, R&D, and auditors.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree required.
• Education in STEM.
• Knowledge in QA/QC systems, inspection methods, and quality standards.
• Familiar with laboratory testing, documentation, and report preparation.
• Good leadership, multitasking, and team management skills.
• Strong communication to liaise with production, R&D, suppliers and auditors.
• Willing to work onsite at Sungai Bakap, Penang.

As a Laboratory Assistant, you’ll sit at the heart of our product development, running experiments and supporting the formulations that our customers rely on.

What you'll do

• Conduct structured laboratory experiments that drive process improvement, product development and formulation changes
• Translate customer requirements into precisely prepared samples, in close partnership with our Marketing team
• Safeguard product identification and traceability across every stage of development
• Maintain laboratory equipment through preventive maintenance and verification, ensuring reliable, repeatable results
• Contribute to the effectiveness of our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems and to regulatory compliance

You’ll work in a hands-on technical role within an established manufacturer, with real exposure to product development, customer sampling and ISO-certified quality systems.
