Job summary

KLK Alami Edible Oils Sdn Bhd is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily lab activities, ensure compliance with SOPs, and mentor technicians. You will review test results, coordinate sampling with production and logistics, and ensure instrument calibration and proper record-keeping.

The role requires a diploma in science or related field and at least 3 years in a laboratory, with supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Science or related field is required.
• 3 years of laboratory experience, supervisory role preferred.
• Exposure to ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily laboratory activities are carried out safely and in accordance with SOPs.
• Perform inspection and analysis of incoming, in-process and final products per QC plan.
• Mentor and train laboratory technicians.
• Check and review test results and reports; investigate abnormal results.
• Liaise with Production, Warehouse or Logistics for sampling and resampling as needed.
• Verify calibration and upkeep of laboratory instruments; report faults.
• Maintain sample retention and related documents (COA, etc.).
• Plan shift schedules and manage lab manpower.
• Conduct stock counts of lab consumables and chemicals; reorder as needed.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Supervise QA/QC roles across refinery, fractionation, packing and jerrycan blowing plants.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Job description

Overall responsible to ensure daily laboratory activities is carried out in safe manner, and follow all the standard operating procedure, rules and regulation.

Responsible to ensure all inspection and analysis for incoming material, in-process material, final product and other additional samples carried out according to Quality Control Plan, standard test method.

Mentor and train laboratory technicians.

Check and review test results/test report in timely and accurate manner, both physical records and records maintain in software systems (e.g., instrument, SAP etc.). Investigate abnormal result/trending and report to Superior on timely manner.

Liaising with Production, Warehouse or Logistics on necessary sampling or resampling when required. Perform storage tank and road tanker/ISO tanker inspection when required.

Ensure lab instrument verification/calibration is carried out according to plan, and ensure proper upkeep of all instruments. Perform inspection on instrument calibration status routinely and report to superior when instrument found faulty or calibration is due.

Ensure all retained samples and document (e.g., COA) are being kept properly.

Responsible for shift schedule planning and ensure sufficient manpower resources to manage daily routine.

Perform stock count for all lab consumables, gas cylinders and chemicals stock sufficient for routine operation, and perform for reorder when stock depleted.

Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in laboratory at all times.

Supervise and perform QAQC roles in refinery, fractionation, packing plant and jerrycan blowing plant.

To perform other related duties assigned or requested by the Management from time to time.

Job Success Requirements

Minimum Diploma in Science or related field.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in laboratory. Previous experience is supervisory role is preferred.

Exposure to ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Kosher and Halal will be an added advantage.
