Job summary

DXN International in Malaysia seeks a Chemist to conduct chemical testing and analysis in the laboratory and at client sites, following established methods and safety protocols.

You will prepare samples, assist in method development, document measurement uncertainty, and ensure ISO/IEC 17025 compliance across on-site and in-lab testing. The role requires independent work and travel for on-site sampling, with strong client communication and precise record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory and/or field testing preferred.
• Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025 systems and test method compliance.
• Able to work independently and travel for on-site sampling or testing assignments.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially for client-facing situations.
• Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all technical work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical testing and analysis in laboratory and client sites per established methods.
• Prepare, dilute, and preserve samples according to test requirements.
• Assist in development, validation, and modification of test methods.
• Estimate and document measurement uncertainty for relevant parameters.
• Ensure testing activities meet ISO/IEC 17025 requirements for on-site and in-lab work.
• Oversee handling, transport, and storage of samples to prevent contamination or loss.
• Prepare and submit accurate field test reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Monitor lab and field work to ensure compliance with SOPs and quality system requirements.
• Maintain documentation including technical and quality records.
• Practice and enforce safe work procedures in the lab and during site jobs.
• Guide and monitor junior staff during lab and field activities to ensure quality and safety.
• Report non-conformance or unsafe practices to Lab Manager and take corrective action.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients during on-site jobs.
• Communicate clearly when explaining procedures, addressing concerns, or resolving issues.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and field equipment.
• Keep the laboratory and work areas clean, organized, and audit-ready.
