Job summary

DXN Holdings Bhd is seeking a qualified chemist to conduct laboratory and on-site testing, prepare samples, and ensure results meet ISO/IEC 17025 standards. You will document measurement uncertainty, maintain safety practices, and supervise junior staff during lab and field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in laboratory and/or field testing preferred.
• Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025 systems and test method compliance.
• Able to work independently and travel for on-site sampling or testing assignments.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially for client-facing situations.
• Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all technical work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical testing and analysis both in the laboratory and at client sites in accordance with established methods.
• Perform sample preparation, dilution, and preservation as per test requirements.
• Assist in the development, validation, and modification of test methods based on technical needs.
• Estimate and document measurement uncertainty for relevant parameters.
• Ensure on-site and in-lab testing activities are conducted in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Ensure all sampling activities are conducted professionally, following proper procedures and safety measures.
• Oversee the handling, transport, and storage of samples to prevent contamination or loss.
• Prepare and submit accurate field test reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Monitor lab and field work to ensure compliance with test methods, SOPs, and quality system requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation, including technical and quality records.
• Practice and enforce safe work procedures in the laboratory and during site jobs.
• Guide and monitor junior staff during lab and field activities to ensure quality and safety.
• Report any non-conformance or unsafe practice to the Lab Manager and take corrective action where needed.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients during on-site jobs.
• Communicate courteously and effectively when explaining procedures, addressing concerns, or resolving issues.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and field equipment.
• Keep the laboratory and work areas clean, organized, and ready for audits or inspections.
