Job summary

Food Journal Sdn Bhd is hiring a kitchen assistant to support the Head Chef in prep and station duties in our busy kitchen in Kuching, Malaysia. You will maintain high cleanliness and comply with Food Hygiene policies while assisting with ingredient preparation, storage, and post-service station cleaning.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply and on-the-job training will be provided. Willingness to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays is essential to keep guest service standards high

Qualifications

• SPM qualification or higher; fresh graduates welcome.
• Experience in hot kitchen is an advantage.
• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
• Pleasant personality and good work attitude.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Adaptable to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients and other kitchen sections as directed by Head Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation around culinary workplace and clean stations after service.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and Food Hygiene policies.
• Maintain storage areas in accordance with Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Environmental policies.
• Perform other duties as requested by Head Chef.
• Fill-in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
