Job summary

BETHEL DAY CARE CENTRE is seeking an enthusiastic early childhood educator to plan and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with our curriculum. You will foster development through play-based and experiential learning, and adapt strategies for diverse learners.

You will also observe progress, maintain records, and collaborate with parents, colleagues, and leaders to support healthy child development and safety.

Foster children's development through play-based and experiential learning.

Teach foundational literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

2. Classroom Management

Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.

Establish positive classroom routines and behavior expectations.

Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.

Ensure all classroom materials and resources are well maintained.

3. Child Development and Assessment

Observe, assess, and document children's progress and developmental milestones.

Maintain accurate student records and portfolios.

Identify learning, behavioral, or developmental concerns and communicate them appropriately.

Develop individualized support strategies when needed.

4. Parent Communication

Build positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians.

Provide regular updates on children's progress, behavior, and achievements.

Conduct parent-teacher conferences and meetings.

Respond promptly and professionally to parent inquiries and concerns.

5. Health, Safety, and Child Protection

Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.

Follow school policies on health, hygiene, safeguarding, and emergency procedures.

Monitor children for signs of illness, injury, or distress and report concerns promptly.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information.

6. Collaboration and Professional Development

Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leadership.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Support school initiatives, programs, and extracurricular activities.
