Job summary

RWDI in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia seeks a Junior Wind Engineer to join the Wind Engineering Team. The role covers wind loading of structures, long-span bridges, solar arrays and wind-induced microclimate effects. Permanent full-time onsite position with annual compensation RM51,000–RM65,000.

Responsibilities include aeroelastic analysis, pedestrian wind comfort, and preparing final work with supervision from a Team Leader. Collaboration with clients and cross‑disciplinary teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Knowledge of bluff body aerodynamics.
• Knowledge of structural dynamics and loading.
• Experience with experimental methods (wind tunnel, etc.).
• Experience with numerical/computational methods (CFD, ML) is an asset.
• Experience with Excel/VBA, Python, Matlab, C/C++, Fortran and LaTeX is an asset.
• Aptitude for practical problem solving and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Aerodynamics and wind response of long and flexible aeroelastic structures (e.g., long‑span bridges and solar arrays).
• Wind loading on buildings, building elements, building façade, and other special structures including solar arrays.
• Pedestrian wind comfort.
• Solve challenging engineering problems related to one or more areas in consultation with clients.
• Prepare, review, and seal final work product as appropriate.
• Support project delivery, marketing, and business development.
• Work under supervision and collaborate with leaders, exercising independent judgment.
