Job summary

CHINA CONSTRUCTION BANK (MALAYSIA) BERHAD is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to develop and maintain internal data-driven applications, business systems, tools, and dashboards. You will design solutions based on business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational needs.

You will manage databases and data across the software development lifecycle, translate requirements into technical specs, and contribute to secure, compliant software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in software development, data application development, database development, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java or equivalent programming languages.
• Good understanding of enterprise security technologies and controls, including SIEM, PAM, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, and IT audit controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain internal data-driven applications, business systems, tools, and dashboards.
• Design and develop applications from the ground up based on business requirements.
• Develop application functionalities, data-processing logic, database queries, reports, and user interfaces.
• Work directly with business users and stakeholders to understand business processes and operational requirements.
• Translate business requirements and business terminology into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Design basic database structures, tables, relationships, views, and queries.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for application and reporting purposes.
• Perform data validation, data cleansing, and data troubleshooting.
• Follow established SDLC practices throughout the application lifecycle.
• Support IT security and audit activities by providing application-related information, system logs, access records, system documentation, and other supporting evidence as required.
• Work closely with IT security and infrastructure teams to address security findings, vulnerabilities, and audit requirements in a timely manner.
