Job summary

Tec D, a TD SYNNEX Company, is seeking an experienced GL Accountant to maintain the general ledger, perform journal entries, and ensure accurate month-end close in a multinational SSC environment.

The ideal candidate has ~5 years in ledger accounting, SAP experience, strong English communication, and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Strong foundation in accounting concepts and standards.
• Knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP is a plus.
• Continuous improvement mindset and solution-oriented thinking.
• Experience in MNC/SSC environments preferred; ~5 years general ledger/Record-to-Report.
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP systems experience, SAP preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong analytical skills.

Job description

Job Purpose

Maintains general ledger, fixed asset, intercompany, cash management and financial records within the general accounting functions. Validate, process, prepare and post accounting journal entries. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and proactively follows up on aged items. Ensures procedures and internal controls are followed to maintain the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting policies and principles. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Timely and accurate completion of general accounting activities and reporting including processing journal entries, preparation and calculation of accruals, prepayments, adjustments. Fixed asset capitalization, depreciation run and leasing. Perform all intercompany billing on timely manner. Closely monitor and reconcile intercompany balances with counterparty. Follow up and resolve material mismatch. Work closely with AP and AR team to ensure all bank clearing items are posted and matched. Complete bank reconciliation during month ends close. Perform period and year end closing operations on a timely and accurate basis. Proper analysis and timely completion of balance sheet reconciliation in compliant with group accounting and reconciliation policy. Prepare group reporting packages during month end and ensure proper analysis and documentation for internal and external reporting purposes. Actively propose and participate in process improvement and automation initiatives with cross-functions, with guidance from team lead/manager. Attend to general accounting related queries/requests from controllers and other stakeholders on timely manner, including but not limited to internal and external audit. Review GL Analyst work and provide guidance to resolve their queries. Collaborate closely with controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy in monthly reporting. Ensure adherence to internal controls and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries and reasonableness of balance sheet positions. Support, follow-up and escalation of identified issues. Understand, monitor and take proper action regarding KPIs. Other additional task as assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Possess at least a bachelor's degree in accounting. Strong foundation in accounting concept. Technical knowledge and application of accounting standards [IFRS/USGAAP] will be an asset. Possess continuous improvement and growth mindset. Able to think from a structure perspective and propose a solution where necessary. Prior experience in MNC and/or SSC environment is preferred. Around 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting/Record-to-Report team. MS Office proficiency. Experience in ERP system, especially SAP is preferred. Good command of written and spoken English language. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
